Many podium manufacturers overlook the importance of weatherization on podiums. They assume that because podiums generally aren't used outside, they don't need to be protected from the elements. Perhaps this is why most podiums don't have any special finish, and some of them are even foam bodies surrounded by fabric. Unfortunately, a portable podium may be left in a hot car or subjected to spills. When this happens, wood will warp, pressboard will peel, and fabric will fade and stain. This won't happen with the ProPodium™ or the ProLectern™, however, because both of these podiums are coated with a weatherized finish.
